TD Bank, America's Most Convenient Bank®, announced today that it has provided $18 million in financing to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA-Angell) in part to fund the construction of a 6,000-square-foot addition to its Critical Care Unit (CCU) and medical ward. This will nearly double the non-profit's capacity to treat emergency animal cases by expanding its facilities at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston. The MSPCA was founded in 1868 by George T. Angell as an independent non-profit (no affiliation with national humane organizations) and is the second-oldest humane society in the U.S. The organization's mission is to protect animals, relieve their suffering, advance their health and welfare and prevent animal cruelty.
