Sean McGah

Sean McGah serves as Managing Director, Head of Sponsor Finance for the Venture Banking group at Banc of California and is based in Boston, Massachusetts. He is responsible for leading Banc of California’s financing efforts in support of venture capital, growth equity, and private equity firm led growth financings, buyouts and recapitalization.

Mr. McGah joined Banc of California from Customers Bank where he co-founded the Technology & Venture Banking Group and served as a Managing Director since 2021. He focused on financing Sponsor-led buyouts and recapitalizations in the lower middle market and growth/venture capital market segments.

Prior to Customers Bank, Sean was the second team member at the Innovation Banking Group at Cambridge Trust Company, joining in 2016 shortly after the group’s founding. Sean held multiple roles at Cambridge Trust, including overseeing the technology lending function for the bank and played a senior role in its growth. Sean started his banking career at TD Bank serving in several roles after completing the Bank’s formal credit training program.
