Dr. Jason Hazel PT, DPT

Chief Strategy and Sales Officer,

Jason Hazel PT, DPT started his career with FOX in 2011 as physical therapist and Senior Regional Director of South Carolina. He was a member of the New Territory Development Team involved with regional startups in Maryland and Virginia.

In December 2015, Jason was named VP of operations for South Carolina, Maryland and Virginia. In December 2015, Jason was named VP of Operations for South Carolina, Maryland and Virginia. Due to his passion for senior living Jason stepped into a role as VP of Senior Living Partnerships in July of 2016. Jason earned a BS in Psychology from College of Charleston. He received his Master’s Degree in Rehab Sciences PT from the Medical University of South Carolina and his Transitional DPT from temple university.

Before joining FOX, Jason served on the Spinal Cord Injury team at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. From there he took a position at Fairfield Memorial Hospital as Director of Rehabilitation Services. In November of 2008 Jason joined Newberry County Memorial Hospital as the Director of Rehabilitation Services and, afterward, performed as a Clinical Program Manager with Accelerated Care Plus.

During his off time, Jason loves activities with wife, Jess, kids, Dottie Grace and Gage, and dog, Wrigley. Oh, and he cheers loud and long for every Clemson sports team.

Mr. Andrew Labovitz

Director

Andy Labovitz is a Director in the Firm’s Health Systems M&A Group with a primary focus on strategic partnership transactions involving hospitals and healthcare systems. Mr. Labovitz joined Cain Brothers in 2003 with 11 years of financial industry experience in the fixed income and derivatives markets. Mr. Labovitz’s notable transactions include the sale of Mission Health System to HCA, the merger of DeKalb Regional Health System to Emory Healthcare and the joint venture between BJC Healthcare and Memorial Group.

Prior Experience

Prior to joining Cain Brothers, Mr. Labovitz was a Vice President in AIG’s Structured Products Group, originating and executing structured credit transactions. Mr. Labovitz began his career at JP Morgan, rising to Vice President, while working on interest rate derivative analytics and asset-backed securitization transactions.

Education

Mr. Labovitz earned a BA in Computer Science from Bucknell University and an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

 

Mr. Neil Lubarsky

Sr VP of Finance, Strategic Partnerships, Ventures and Innovation

At Jefferson, Neil's responsibility includes financial operations, managed care contracting, revenue cycle, health information management and supply chain management.  He also serves on various committees at Jefferson that focus on information technology, performance improvement, investments, employee benefits, pharmacoeconomics, risk management, workforce planning and facility planning.

Prior to joining Jefferson, Neil was as a financial officer at other health care organizations in the Philadelphia area.  He also spent a significant portion of his career in the accounting profession with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he specialized in the health care industry. 

In addition to serving as Treasurer for HSX, Neil also serves on the boards of Philadelphia International Medicine, Thomas Jefferson University Cardiology Research Foundation and The Hill at Whitemarsh. He also serves on the Campaign Cabinet for the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. Neil is a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant. He is also a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants.

He is a graduate of Bradley University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. 

Mr. Stephen Thome

Executive summary

Stephen is a principal within Grant Thornton’s National Health Care Advisory. He serves as the Health Care Advisory leader for the Great Lakes and as Key Account Leader for various academic health systems.

Stephen has more than 20 years of experience working with large health systems and academic medical canters as a health system executive and health care consultant. He provides strategic and financial advisory services to his clients, including:

  • Analytics and due diligence to support transactions
  • Strategic and financial advice and analytics to support strategic planning, large capital projects and strategic partnering opportunities
  • Clinical program focused analytics


Prior to working for Grant Thornton, Stephen also served as a health care consultant for Ernst & Young and as Project Director for Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

Executive summary

Lance is a Partner in our Transaction Services practice and is the health care transaction services leader with over 20 years of experience in restructuring, M&A, audit and management consulting developed over several years within large professional service settings.

His primary experience is serving clients in all facets of the health care industry, including experience with anesthesiology, toxicology centers, outpatient surgery centers, pain management, dental groups, home health care, hospital systems, outsource ancillary service providers, specialty and long term care pharmacy, medical equipment manufacturers, clinical research facilities, care centers, standalone emergency departments and over the counter and prescription drug manufacturers. Lance has extensive deal experience with buy-and sell side-due diligence engagements for both private equity and strategic clients.
