Overview

Body
Opportunity Zones – A New Economic Engine for Connecticut?
The Opportunity Zones program created by the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act offers significant tax incentives to encourage investment and development in designated low-income and economically distressed communities
nationwide, including several zones located in Connecticut. Our panel of experts will provide an overview of the legislation and still developing regulatory landscape, the available tax benefits, including deferral of capital
gains and potential reduction or permanent exclusion of tax, how deals are getting done today, and the questions still to be answered as we await further guidance from the IRS.
