Everything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. This law counts not only in American police movies but also in the Dutch criminal law. We all know that accidents happen and it is entirely possible that in our professional career we will encounter the FIOD. This does not mean that we are the suspect or witness. More likely that we have information on a client that is important for the FIOD investigators.

How to prepare yourself for all possible scenarios that a visit from the FIOD can bring was the theme of the recent ACG lunch which took place on November 12th 2014 in Amsterdam. Presented by the lawyers from Hertoghs advocaten-belastingkundigen, it was a refreshing topic and an excellent presentation for the gathering of members and guests interested in this specialist topic.
