The last few years have seen an increase in demand for electricity but at the same time the market has also become more complicated. Key challenges include:

- Varying levels of support for energy transition ie. not all governments are on the same page
- Technology - speed of research, amount of investment and level of collaboration
- Levels of investment in infrastructure - costs & risks
