ACG CEO to Testify Before CARES Oversight Commission

Public Hearing Will Focus on Main Street Loan Program

(August 7, 2020 - CHICAGO) Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) ACG President and CEO Tom Bohn will offer testimony on the efficacy of the Main Street Lending Program before the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act Congressional Oversight Commission.

The public hearing will stream live Friday, August 7, at 10 a.m. ET. Eric S. Rosengren, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, which is managing the Main Street Lending Program facility, will speak for the first hour. Bohn is one of a four-member panel and speaks thereafter. His remarks will focus his on borrowers, and he is expected to include results and comments from a recent survey of ACG members' experience with the program. 

The purpose of the hearing is to examine the Main Street Lending Program established by the Federal Reserve pursuant to the CARES Act. The Congressional Oversight Commission is a five-person panel established by the CARES Act. It is focused on the economic stabilization efforts of the Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve. The Commission's chairperson has not been appointed yet. Its members include Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.), Congresswoman Donna Shalala (D-Fla.), Congressman French Hill (R-Ark.), and Bharat Ramamurti (Pronounced RAH- MA -MUR-TEE).

Congressman Hill will serve as the acting chair. The agenda follows:
