ACG San Diego | Stout Acquires Vantage Point Advisors

Simon Heaton is Stout’s Chief Growth Officer. He is responsible for leading both short- and long-term senior talent initiatives to support the future growth of the firm.  Simon has over 25 years of work experience with over 15 of them in recruiting and development, working for 3rd party agencies, RPO providers, and leading in-house recruiting teams. He has experience in various industries including financial services, retail and pharmaceuticals.

Prior to joining Stout, Simon was the Global Head of Talent Acquisition for Barclays PLC where he was responsible for hiring senior executives and leading the talent and succession management processes. Prior to Barclays, he held numerous senior talent acquisition roles at Walmart where he spent 5 years working in Canada, U.S., and Hong Kong.

Greg O’Hara is a Managing Director and President of the Valuation Advisory Group. He has extensive experience in the field of valuation and mergers & acquisitions.  Greg has valued equity, debt, and derivative securities (stock options and warrants), as well as intangible assets, for a variety of purposes including: purchase and sale advisement; fairness opinions; financial and tax reporting; bankruptcy and reorganization; shareholder disputes; and other corporate, tax and litigation related matters. His experience encompasses a broad range of industries. Greg has presented continuing education seminars on the subject of valuation, corporate finance, and litigation support. He has also testified as an expert witness related to valuation and economic damage issues.

Todd Poling is a Managing Director in the Business Valuation practice of the Valuation Advisory group. He has extensive experience providing valuation services to public and private-sector clients, both domestically and internationally. He has valuation and mergers and acquisition expertise across a very broad range of industries. Todd has managed large and complex valuation consulting engagements focusing heavily on the transaction arena. He has participated in numerous engagements involving venture-backed and development-stage companies, corporate restructuring, initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, ESOPs, and fairness opinions. In addition, he provided valuation consulting in litigation support situations and served as an expert witness in both deposition and trial settings.

Prior to joining Stout, Todd was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Vantage Point Advisors, Inc., which he led for seventeen years until the firm’s acquisition by Stout in 2022. Prior to founding Vantage Point Advisors, he was Managing Director of CBIZ Valuation Group, Inc., spending several years with the firm in the Dallas, San Diego, and Los Angeles offices. Todd had previously held a position as General Manager of a start-up manufacturer and positions with Arthur Andersen & Co., where he worked in the firm’s audit and business consulting practices.

Brent Glova is a Managing Director in the Business Valuation practice of the Valuation Advisory group and Stout’s San Diego Office Lead. He has extensive experience providing valuation services to public and private sector clients, both domestically and internationally. He has deep expertise across a very broad range of industries but has a particular focus on the Life Science (Biotechnology / Medical Device / Diagnostics), Technology, and Consumer Product sectors. Brent has valued enterprises, equity, debt, and derivative securities (including stock options, warrants, and various embedded derivatives) as well as a variety of intangible assets for numerous purposes, including purchase and sale advisement, financial and tax reporting, initial public offerings, spin-outs and restructuring, capital raising, and other corporate-related matters.

Prior to joining Stout, Brent was President and Managing Director of Vantage Point Advisors, Inc., where he led and oversaw consulting efforts on his clients and others’, as well as strategy and operations of the firm. Vantage Point Advisors was acquired by Stout in 2022. Previously, he had worked in another valuation boutique setting and as part of a public company Corporate Finance team. He began his career at Standard & Poor’s Corporate Value Consulting and then Duff & Phelps, LLC
