Cláudia Schwartz is the President of HR Results, expert witness in employment litigation, investigator (PI License 28731), EEOC Consent Decree consultant, Director of the UCSD HR Leadership Program, instructor of employment law courses, speaker at CEO groups (e.g., Vistage) and conferences (e.g., SHRM).  Cláudia and her team provide comprehensive services including workplace investigations (by employment attorney or PI), training (e.g., harassment prevention, unconscious bias & inclusion, dealing with conflict), disability interactive process and leave management, HR audits, policies and processes, HR strategy, alignment of culture and brand, organizational effectiveness, leadership development, executive coaching, and performance optimization. Cláudia held senior HR management positions at companies with up to 10,000 employees across industries for approximately 20 years, including Scripps.  Cláudia’s background includes membership in a Venture Capital firm and being Vice Chair of the board at a $110M organization.  Her credentials include a master’s degree, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, PI and AWI-CH. Awards received include the Exemplary HR Professional of the Year award by the San Diego Business Journal.  Cláudia grew up in Latin America and has skills in Portuguese and Spanish, global HR management and diversity.

Marie Burke Kenny is the Leader of Procopio’s Labor and Employment Practice Group in San Diego.  She received her JD (cum laude) from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1995.  Marie represents employers in wage and hour class actions and litigation involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination and unfair competition claims.  Marie believes that it is critically important to tailor the defense strategy to achieve the best litigation and business outcomes for her clients.

Marie also has extensive experience counseling employers regarding all aspects of the employment relationship, including performance management, termination, contracts, workplace investigations, medical issues, leaves of absence, wage and hour audits, compensation review, workplace training and employment policies and practices. She works with employers to develop strategies to prevent employment claims and create effective defenses to litigation.
