Back by popular demand, Jeff Mortimer, Director of Investment Strategy, BNY Mellon Wealth Management, will keynote and share his perspective and forecasts for where the economy is headed in 2022. Following the keynote, we’ll showcase 3 rapid fire presentations with audience Q&A on navigating some of the biggest challenges facing the industry, including:

Jeff Mortimer is the director of investment strategy for BNY Mellon Wealth Management. In this role, he leads a team that sets capital market expectations and is responsible for making asset allocation recommendations. Jeff has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining the firm, Jeff worked for Charles Schwab for 13 years in increasingly senior positions, culminating with his appointment as chief investment officer. He also worked for nearly 10 years in boutique firms in the Boston area, serving high net worth individuals and families.Jeff received a bachelor of science degree in finance from Babson College and a master of business administration from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. He is a CFA charter holder. He is a national speaker on issues of investment strategy, the financial markets and the economy. He has been featured in numerous media outlets, including Barron's, Fortune, Bloomberg and CNBC.

Gabrielle Jenkins, Cofounder of Waypoint Growth Advisors, is a Human Capital professional with over 30 years of diverse experience in Fortune 500 and entrepreneurial environments in public and privately held organizations spanning multiple industries including Financial Services, Tech, Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Distribution, Biotech, Pharma, & Digital Marketing. In her early career, Gabrielle served as a member of the Senior Management team of a privately held wholesale electronic distributor, which was acquired by Berkshire Hathaway. During her tenure, the company’s revenue size grew from $90 million to $380 million with growth in employment of 225 to over 600. Her expertise is in leadership growth and maximizing employee ROI. Waypoint Growth Advisors helps investors measure QoT (Quality of Talent) as part of due diligence. They help Portfolio companies reduce turnover by making better hiring decisions by bringing "science to selection". In addition, their work supports effective team scaling by providing organizational assessments that improve productivity and leadership success, which, increases employee engagement and retention by measuring EQ in both employees and leaders. She is a graduate of Lehigh University and serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association. She has led lectures in a variety of public forums including the Association for Corporate Growth, Technology Capital Network at MIT, Tufts University, InfluenceHER conference, and the BIO International Convention

Darren Morrison is a Managing Director in BRG Corporate Finance focused on financial and operational performance improvement. He has over 25 years of experience assisting public and private clients through transactions, including due diligence, merger integration, and carve outs. Mr. Morrison has deep industry experience in retail, consumer products, manufacturing, and technology where he leads business transformation and cost management initiatives to identify and address performance improvement opportunities, including:

  • Supply chain optimization
  • Direct and indirect sourcing
  • Contract negotiations
  • Organization structure and labor optimization
  • Working capital and inventory management

Mr. Morrison earned an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA in Economics and Computer Science from Northwestern University.

Please note: per the City of Boston policy and the UMass Club policies, proof of vaccination will be required for all to attend this event:

Guests and members of the UMass Club are required to show proof that they have been vaccinated - in order to comply, members and their guests must provide proof that they have received at least one dose of a vaccine authorized by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or by the World Health Organization (WHO). The following documents are accepted as means for providing proof of vaccination:

  • CDC vaccination card
  • A digital image of your CDC card
  • An image of any official immunization record
  • City of Boston app or any other COVID vaccine verification app

Check-in first at the front desk to show proof of vaccination, and then proceed to the ACG Boston registration table.  You will only have to provide this information once.
