Join ACG Boston and the women of New England's deal community for a roundtable luncheon discussion on some of M&A's hottest topics on April 3 at BNY Mellon Wealth Management in Boston!

Lunch will take place prior to the conversations, and then attendees will have the chance to participate in three 20-minute discussions on the below topics, with the following moderators:

Terry Sylvester Charron is senior director for BNY Mellon Wealth Management’s Family Wealth Investment Advisor group in the New England region. In this role, she provides investment advice to individuals and families by creating tailored wealth management solutions to meet their investment needs.  

Terry has more than 20 years of experience in the wealth management business. Prior to her current role, she was responsible for managing ultra high net worth client portfolios.  Terry spent five years as Director of Alternative Investment Strategies at the firm. In this role, she worked on both strategic asset allocation and the creation of alternative investment solutions, including forming the Hedge Fund Group, to meet the unique investment needs of ultra high net worth clients.

She has been a member of the Investment Policy and Investment Strategy Committees and has also chaired Mellon Hedge Advisors.  Education: Bachelor’s degree, Boston College; MBA, Simmons Graduate School of Management.  Memberships: Member, Boston Investment and Implementation Committee, Member, CFA Boston, Member, CFA Institute, Member, Alternative Strategies Committee, Co-chair, New England Diversity and Inclusion Council, Vice Chairman, Mellon Hedge Advisors.

Leann is a Senior Manager in the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions Tax Services practice, and focuses on advising corporate and private equity investors with respect to tax implications of mergers, acquisitions and restructurings. Leann’s transaction tax experience includes:

Carol is a Commercial Lender and Vice President at TD Bank. She has over 20 years of experience providing financial solutions with banking products and services to companies in a wide range of industries and sectors including manufacturing, distribution, retail, business services, consumer and industrial products, healthcare, and technology (including software, medical devices, and life sciences). She has also worked with many international clients with cross-border customers and vendors. Carol manages a diverse portfolio of predominantly privately-held companies in the Middle Market space.  Carol was previously a Commercial Lender and Vice President at People's United Bank and Santander Bank and a Vice President at Wachovia in their Real Estate Investment Group where she was twice awarded the national President's Club Award.

Carol is an active member of the Association of Corporate Growth ("ACG') in Boston and sits on both the Membership Committee and the Women's Group Committee, serves on Northeastern University's MBA Mentoring Committee, regularly participates in the Small Business Association of New England and has served as both a Judge and Mentor for the Annual Innovation Awards, member of Commercial Finance Association ("CFA"), Exit Planning Exchange ("XPX"), National Association of Women's MBAs, Northeastern University Alumni Network, and Boston and North Shore Chamber Groups.

Emily represents public and private companies across all industries in mergers and acquisitions, as well as venture capital funds, private equity firms, other institutional investors and companies in connection with a wide variety of corporate and transactional matters, including private placements, minority investments, venture capital financings and corporate governance matters. Rudy Scarito has been an investment banker for over 25 years. She started her career in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Lehman Brothers in New York, and later worked on Lehman’s Equity Capital Markets desk where she completed IPO’s and other public equity offerings.

After 11 years Rudy moved back to Boston to be closer to her family, and started working for Tucker Anthony, a Boston-based brokerage firm that is now owned by Royal Bank of Canada.  At Tucker Anthony Rudy started the firm’s Private Capital Group and raised equity, subordinated debt and senior debt for companies at all stages in their life cycles.

Rudy started her current firm, RS Finance & Consulting, in 2009.  At RS Finance Rudy focuses on mergers & acquisitions, primarily representing business owners in the sale of their companies. Rudy also raises equity and debt capital for companies and provides business valuations.  Clients generally range in size from $10 million to $25 million in sales.  Over the course of her career Rudy has completed over 140 transactions.

Rudy has served on the Board of Directors of two publicly traded NASDAQ companies and is currently on the board of the Boston chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth, an organization focused on mergers and acquisitions.

Lynn Sommer has more than 15 years of valuation and transaction advisory service experience with both public and private companies, providing fairness and solvency opinions, strategic alternatives analyses, and valuations for a variety of purposes including tax and financial reporting.

Prior to joining Cabrillo Advisors, Ms. Sommer’s valuation and advisory experience spanned the Big 4 and Houlihan Lokey. In addition, she was most recently a Senior Director at Alvarez & Marsal in New York, where she was an integral senior member of the firm’s transaction opinion services practice.

Ms. Sommer earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in Economics from Colgate University and an MBA in Finance and Accounting from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Ms. Sommer is a frequent speaker on valuation topics and has chaired several committees for and served on the Board of Directors of the Association for Corporate Growth in Los Angeles.

A Principal at Mirus Capital Advisors, Kate has a decade of experience in mergers and acquisitions, valuations, and financial analysis. She has supported dozens of transactions including leading due diligence efforts, writing offering documents, and performing financial modeling. In addition, Kate has prepared valuation models and reports for clients, including 409(a) option valuations, purchase price allocations, and business enterprise valuations for purposes such as estate planning and litigation. Prior to joining Mirus in 2012, she was employed by a middle market investment banking and valuation firm.

Kate received a BS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Management with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Economics. She is a Certified Valuation Analyst and holds Series 7, 24, 63, and 79 certifications from FINRA.
