Stephen Eckert, J.D., LL.M.

Working within Plante Moran’s National Tax Office, Stephen focuses on tax policy, legislation, and other emerging tax issues. He consults with clients across all service and industry lines, advising them on these developments to ensure that they are considering available tax planning opportunities. Stephen is a frequent writer and speaker on these topics and contributes to developments through national organizations. He’s also a specialist in the nuanced tax aspects of business transactions, including expertise with the complex structuring of the sales and acquisitions of businesses. Stephen is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He received his B.A. in political science from the University of Notre Dame, his J.D. from the Chicago–Kent College of Law, and his LL.M. from the New York University School of Law.
