ACG Kentucky and FEI Louisville hold their first joint meeting on January 17, with Hilliard Lyons Chairman and CEO Jim Allen and Baird Vice Chairman John Taft as featured speakers.

In November, Hilliard Lyons announced it would join Baird, an employee-owned wealth management, capital markets, private equity and asset management firm based in Milwaukee. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2019.

Established in 1854, Hilliard Lyons is one of the nation’s oldest investment firms and has nearly 1,000 employees, including more than 380 financial advisors, operating in more than 70 offices in 11 states. Along with its sister company Hilliard Lyons Trust Company, the firm offers wealth management, trust, and estate planning services, as well as investment banking, municipal finance, and asset management services. It has over $50 billion in client assets and had more than $280 million in revenue for its fiscal year ended September 30, 2018.

 Baird, established in 1919, has more than 3,450 associates, including 890 financial advisors, working from 97 locations in 30 states, and manages more than $200 billion in client assets.

Allen joined Hilliard Lyons in 1981 and has served as Chairman and CEO since 2004. Jim is active in the financial services industry and with the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, where he currently serves on the board of directors and is chairman-elect. He also chairs the Regional Firms Committee.

Taft has been involved in the financial industry for more than 35 years, including10 years as the CEO of RBC Wealth Management

and past service as Chairman of the Securities Industry Financial Markets Association. As Vice Chairman of Baird and a member of its Executive Committee, John's focus is on advancing strategic opportunities, including the continued expansion of Baird's Private Wealth Management business.
