Overview

Body

Who knew tomatoes could draw such a buzz? Since listing on the NASDAQ on Feb. 1, the Kentucky-based agtech startup AppHarvest has seen its valuation rise to $3.68 billion.

AppHarvest was acquired and brought public by the Indiana-based Novus Capital Corporation through a unique capital market technique called a SPAC (Special-Purpose Acquisition Company). Investors pool their monies into the publicly traded SPAC in order to acquire a “public-market ready” operating business with the intent of then taking that business public.

ACG Kentucky and ACG Indiana have teamed up to bring this special event to ACG members and guests. Jim Birge, a Faegre Drinker attorney and ACG Indiana Board Director, will lead a discussion with Novus Capital Corporation leadership -- CEO Bob Laikin, Board Chairman Larry Paulson and Board Director Jeff Foster -- on the company’s mission, experience in forming SPACs and its successful IPO launch with AppHarvest.

They will share  the SPAC process, Novus Capital Corporation’s partnership with AppHarvest, the founders’ passion for ESG investing and emerging trends in this exciting space.

Join us to learn more about one of Wall Street’s hottest trends.
