Family Asthma & Allergy's expansion takes Large Transaction

Louisville-based Family Allergy & Asthma's series of acquisitions - including its 2020 deal with Arkansas Allergy and Asthma Clinic - has earned it the ACG Kentucky Deal of the Year in the chapter's recent awards ceremony.

Chad and Lauren Coulter's sale of the LouVino chain they founded in 2014 was the winner in the small transaction category.

Now in its sixth year, The Deal of the Year recognizes companies that have done an excellent job in promoting corporate growth.  ACG is an organization of professionals who plan, finance, and consummate the transactions that grow businesses and their communities.  Members are interested in discovering new ideas, meaningful business relationships, better innovations and efficiencies.

Arkansas Allergy and Asthma Clinic will be a division of Family Allergy & Asthma. The   acquisitions bring Family Allergy & Asthma to a total of 43 board-certified allergists serving 50 offices across 5 states. The practice is in also in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, and Tennessee.  Kay Tyler, CEO, and James Sublett, MD and Chief Medical Officer, presented the details of the company's growth to the online audience. In the small company category, the transaction involving the sale of LouVino Restaurant and Wine Bars to Steve Ritchie, former president and CEO of Louisville-based Papa John's International Inc.

The sale of LouVino and its five locations in Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio to Endeavor Restaurant Group allows the Coulters to focus on building their Biscuit Belly breakfast chain, as owner Chad Coulter explained in accepting the award.

This year’s Deal of the Year honorees were selected from transactions identified through research and from transactions solicited from the business community. The transactions had to close during calendar year 2020 to be evaluated.

A five-person committee comprised of M&A, capital markets and transaction professionals reviewed nearly 75 transactions and selected the winner and finalists based on the transactions that best met the judging criteria.

Past honorees include CEO Ted Nixon and D.D. Williamson & Co., Inc., which acquired DuPont’s Natural Colors Business in 2019;  Rabbit Hole Distillery, 21c Museum Hotels, Liquor Barn, KFI Furniture and Angel's Envy.
