Bryan O’Keefe is a partner in the Washington, DC office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP and a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment Department. Bryan frequently represents companies in transactional due diligence and bankruptcy matters. To note, prior to and since joining Seyfarth, Bryan has been responsible for due diligence on more than 1,500 deals, with a particular emphasis on private equity transactions and those involving the use of representations and warranties insurance. Bryan has led the development of the firm’s transactional underwriting practice group. This team advises transactional risk insurers on all aspects of a deal, including assisting with insurer due diligence, identifying key risks with the transaction, and working with buyers’ counsel to negotiate a transactional risk product that serves the needs of all. Bryan has been a faculty member for the Practicing Law Institute’s annual "Acquiring or Selling the Privately Held Company" conference. Bryan frequently appears in the media commenting on transactional risk insurance matters.

In addition to his transactional practice, Bryan frequently represents employers in traditional labor law matters, including NLRB unfair labor practice charges and administrative law judge trials, NLRB appellate matters, union organizing and representational elections, collective bargaining, strikes, pickets, corporate campaigns, and union-related bankruptcy implications. Bryan has developed a unique practice area combining traditional labor law and corporate transactional matters and has been frequently called upon to advise on traditional labor relations matters that arise in transactions, including advice and counsel on the structure of union corporate transactions, the potential for NLRA successorship, and decisional and effects bargaining obligations. Bryan is the Management Co-Chair for Region V of the American Bar Association’s Committee on Practice and Procedure under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and an active member of the ABA’s Committee on the Development of the Law under the NLRA. In addition, Mr. O’Keefe is a contributing editor to Developing Labor Law. In addition, Bryan is a contributing editor to Developing Labor Law and How to Take a Case Before the NLRB.

Bryan graduated summa cum laude from the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law and graduated summa cum laude from the George Washington University, with a BA in Political Communications. While in law school, Bryan was the Editor-in-Chief of the Penn State Law Review. Prior to receiving his law degree, Bryan was a public policy consultant on labor, employment, and higher education in Washington, DC for several think tanks and trade associations, working with organizations such as the US Chamber of Commerce and HR Policy Association.
