Featured Speaker: Alexander Hoy, Vice President, Finance, Buckman
Alexander (“Andy”) Hoy is a seasoned financial executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience across multinational corporations, high‑growth businesses, and complex global operating environments. He currently serves as Vice President of Finance for Buckman, where he oversees Controlling, Accounting, and FP&A for the company’s North American operations, driving strategic financial management, operational excellence, and organizational performance.

Prior to Buckman, Andy spent nearly two decades at Lonza, ultimately serving as Head of Finance (Regional CFO) for the Americas, responsible for financial stewardship across 13 legal entities and eight manufacturing sites. His tenure included leading regional and global transformation initiatives, implementing financial control frameworks, optimizing capital structures, and driving shared‑services performance across critical finance functions. He also played a key role in major M&A activities, including financial due diligence, acquisition integration, and strategic partnership negotiations.

Earlier in his career, Andy held senior finance leadership roles at Cambrex, Renishaw, and Invensys, where he managed FP&A, accounting, treasury, tax, compliance, and business systems across diverse industries including specialty chemicals, biotech, pharma, engineering, electronics, and FMCG.

Andy is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds an MBA, an MST in Taxation, and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. He also maintains professional certifications in Shared Services, Robotic Automation, and Lean Six Sigma. Known for his hands‑on leadership style, cross‑functional collaboration, and ability to drive financial transformation, Andy has led teams ranging from small specialized groups to organizations of more than 150 professionals.

Whilst home and family are in Wayne New Jersey, Andy is currently based in Memphis supporting the transformation of the Buckman’s North American operations, but remains active in community leadership, including recently serving as Treasurer for the Pines Lake Association.

Session Information
Business transformation rarely follows a predictable path. Whether driven by acquisitions, economic crises, leadership changes, shared service initiatives, divestitures, or private equity ownership, finance leaders are often expected to guide organizations through periods of significant uncertainty while maintaining performance and stakeholder confidence.

Drawing on multiple real-world transformation initiatives spanning biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, specialty chemicals, shared services, corporate integrations, divestitures, and private equity-sponsored business turnarounds, this session examines the practical realities of organizational change from the perspective of a finance executive.

Participants will explore contrasting transformation models, including large public-company integrations, recession-driven restructurings, shared service deployments, acquisition integrations, divestitures, and private equity operating environments. The session highlights lessons learned regarding organizational culture, change management, risk identification, decision-making, resource allocation, stakeholder communication, and leadership effectiveness during periods of disruption.

Through case-based discussion and practical examples, attendees will gain insights applicable to their own organizations and develop a framework for evaluating future transformation initiatives.
