Fall Women of Leadership Event: Owning Your Leadership Style and Financial Confidence

Allie Colman, will share her deep knowledge in corporate tax, global and multistate compliance, and planning—helping companies navigate the complexities of today’s business environment. Cathy Agle, will offer her insights on building and preserving wealth across generations while balancing the demands of family and financial confidence. Jes Ruzic, will demonstrate how to use style and color as a competitive edge, guiding us in aligning personal brand with professional impact.

Allie Colman, Northeast Technology Leader and Tax Partner, Aprio Advisory Group
Allie works with a wide range of clients in the technology industry. Many of her clients are C corporations, both public and private. Allie frequently works with clients who experience both inbound and outbound foreign transactions. Laws differ by country and she enjoys helping her clients understand what they need to know from a US tax perspective as it can often be overwhelming. Historically, Allie has worked with clients across a variety of industries, such as manufacturing and distribution, food and beverage, and retail. 
 
She specializes in corporate tax – ASC740 (tax provisions) and global, multistate compliance, and planning. Allie takes pride in providing her clients with the same level of service she would expect to receive. She’s a strategic thinker with a depth of experience that enables her to strategize for her clients to deliver the best tax result. Allie believes in prompt, clear communication, proactive planning, and thinking outside the box. She values making tax enjoyable for her clients!

Allie has a track record of excellent client retention, as well as a very low turnover on the teams she leads. She is very invested in her people.

Allie earned a BBA in accounting and management from Loyola University Maryland, and a master’s degree in taxation from Rutgers University. She is a CPA in Pennsylvania, and is involved in the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and the MS Society.

Cathy Agle, Financial Advisor, Merrill Lynch
Cathy is a Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management.  Cathy has 21 years of experience in Capital Markets, specializing in corporate foreign currency risk management.  As a first-generation Taiwanese immigrant, Cathy understands the importance of culture and global economic outlook on the financial well-being of high net-worth families with diverse backgrounds.  Not only is Cathy focused on growing and preserving wealth for the next generation, but she is also passionate about helping families meet the multi-dimensional demands of caring for aging relatives.  Paramount to wealth preservation, Cathy believes personal finance education is a key ingredient to empowerment for all family members.

Based in NY, Cathy was most recently a Managing Director in Rates & Currencies Solutions at Bank of America Securities and spent more than a decade at Citi Foreign Exchange Sales Desk helping corporations manage their currency risk.  Prior to her career in finance, Cathy was a software programmer at Accenture’s Media & Technology practice in Palo Alto. Cathy holds an MBA from the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania.  She also holds MS & BS degrees in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Cathy is a fluent Mandarin Chinese speaker.  She lives in Downtown Jersey City, New Jersey with her husband Russell, teenage-son, and daughter.
Jes Ruzic, Certified Personal Stylist and Image Consultant
As a certified Personal Stylist and Image Consultant from the NY Institute of Art and Design, Jes Ruzic has been helping women define and discover their styles for over a decade. She has experience dressing keynote speakers, directing photoshoots, and transforming women’s wardrobes by providing education on cuts, colors, and fabrics. Jes has also served as a lead stylist at New York Fashion Week, collaborating with designers, makeup, hair, and production teams at some of the hottest venues in NYC.

Jes has her own proprietary method of educating and empowering women to make the absolute best clothing choices for themselves. She helps her clients gain the confidence to easily recognize or rediscover their most positive traits, explore new styles, make more informed fashion decisions, and embrace their personal brands.

Today, Jes will lead us on a journey to learn how to use color as a competitive advantage in business. Ever wonder how to walk into a room and instantly gain credibility and collaboration without saying a word? Well, we are about to find out. Jes will also guide us through a color analysis with one lucky member of our audience.
