There's an appliance manufacturer with a Louisville presence that you may not know. At least until Midea America Research Center Executve Director Adam Schultz presents to ACG Kentucky on Nov. 18. Adam, a former design engineer and program manager at GE Appliances, will discuss his professional career and his role with Midea, the company and its Louisville operations, and growth plans.

Midea America Research Center

Adam Schultz is executive director of the Midea America Research Center (MARC), a key facility enhancing appliance manufacturer Midea's research and development capabilities for smart home technologies and groundbreaking innovations. Originally from Bee Spring, Kentucky, Schultz earned a mechanical engineering degree from WKU, moved to Louisville and worked as a process engineer in the automotive industry before joining GE Appliances. There, he served a variety of technical and process roles across a number of products.

He joined MARC in 2019 as an R&D platform manager in residential air conditioning and had a hand in launching several award-winning products prior to becoming executive director in 2024 to lead the entire R&D operations.

Adam is an MBA graduate of the University of Louisville, and he and his wife have two young daughters "who keep me busy when I'm home," he says.
