Beverly co-leads the China Practice and is responsible for driving the business development efforts for Moss Adams with Chinese-owned businesses across the western United States. She is highly experienced in business development for the real estate, technology, education, and consumer services industries and frequently networks with key industry clients and prospects. She joined the firm from East West Bank in San Francisco, where she also worked closely with Chinese-owned businesses in the US. She also has extensive experience leading direct investments in both the US and Chinese capital markets over the past decade.

Beverly was born and raised in Beijing, and currently serves as an advisory board member of the University of San Francisco China Business Studies program. Beverly received her MBA in finance from Rice University, her MA in professional communications from Purdue University, and her BA in English from Peking University.

Ian Morton is a Co-Managing Partner at Crimson Investment, a global private equity firm.  Mr. Morton serves as a member of the firm’s Investment Committee and as Chairman of several of the firm’s largest portfolio companies.

Headquartered in the U.S. with offices in Asia, Crimson provides buyout and growth capital financing to companies capitalizing on the accelerating globalization trend within the industrial, consumer, healthcare and services industries. Crimson acquires U.S. middle market companies and partners with management to actively help them establish capabilities and sales in Asia. Crimson has been pursuing this investment strategy for over 20 years.

Xiaohua Yang, Ph.D.

Professor Xiaohua Yang teaches International Business and is the founding director of the China Business Studies Initiative in the School of Management at the University of San Francisco. She specializes in the internationalization of Chinese firms, MNE corporate social responsibility and sustainable development, international R&D strategic alliances, and foreign market entry strategies. She has taught and lectured in the USA, Australia, China, Taiwan, and Europe. She regularly teaches MBA and EMBA students and supervises doctoral students. Dr. Yang is a recipient of multiple Best Paper Awards from prestigious international conferences, the outstanding research award and the outstanding service award from the USF School of Management as well as the prestigious China Natural Science Foundation grant. Widely published in international journals, she is the Senior editor of the Journal of Asia Business studies, guest editor of several top journals including Asia Pacific Journal of Management and Business Ethics Quarterly, among other editorial credentials.

Yan Zhang

Yan Zhang is a partner in the Corporate Practice in the Palo Alto office of Baker Botts. He represents public and private companies in corporate and securities matters in a variety of industries, and the financial institutions that invest in or provide services to them. His practice has a particular emphasis on Greater China-focused cross-border transactions. Yan's experience includes public offering and private placement of securities, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and foreign direct investment, general corporate governance and compliance matters. Yan also works with private equity and venture capital funds in their investment activities and their portfolio company matters. In addition, Yan regularly advises foreign companies on doing business in China and Chinese companies on investing in the United States. Prior to joining Baker Botts, Yan worked at major international law firms in both Silicon Valley and China.
