IPOs vs. ICOs: What is the Difference?

The cryptocurrency market has attracted the attention of many, from traders wanting to make a quick buck to experts that are concerned with its lack of transparency. The explosive growth of ICOs has clearly polarized the industry, with critics associating the phenomena as a bubble waiting to be popped, while proponents justify the use of such ICOs as a revolutionary innovation that will change the very fabric of our economy.

Almost 12 billion has been raised from Initial Coin Offerings (ICO) in 2018, far more than for venture capital. Will this new innovative channel be a threat to traditional VCs and private equity?  There are key characteristics between an ICO vs. an IPO offering that set them apart.  Come learn from our panelists about key differences, regulatory environment, tokenomics, risks and rewards between the two capital raising strategies. Hear from a seasoned VC, an ecosystem player that has launched 25 ICOs and raised over 200 million, and a startup with ICO experience.
