In addition to his role at Mazakali, Steve is an investor member of The Arcview Group and a mentor to Canopy Companies.  Steve has been an angel investor since 2015, and supports NCIA, MPP and SSDP.  Prior to joining the cannabis industry, Steve spent nearly a decade in the financial capital markets across sales, business development, valuation, trading, client relationship management, wealth advisory and investment planning.

Steve’s past experience includes: Financial Advisor, J.P. Morgan Securities, Underwriter, State Farm Insurance and Financial Representative, Northwestern Mutual.

Steve earned B.A.s in Finance and Risk Management with a Minor in Economics from Illinois State University and currently holds Series 7, Series 66 and Series 79 licenses.

Khurshid Khoja is Principal of Greenbridge Corporate Counsel, a business law firm founded in 2012 to represent legal cannabis businesses on regulatory and transactional matters. He’s participated in legislative and initiative drafting, stakeholder meetings, executive agency outreach and rulemaking proceedings in connection with California’s cannabis laws and regulations, including Prop 64. Khurshid has also represented underwriters as well as public and private companies in acquisitions of licensed cannabis businesses, and businesses going public in Canada through reverse take-overs.

Khurshid currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the National Cannabis Industry Association. He has previously served on State Treasurer John Chiang’s Cannabis Banking Working Group as a representative of industry. Among other honors, Khurshid was recently profiled in The National Law Journal’s first ever Cannabis Law Trailblazers’ list, and was featured in The Hemp Connoisseur magazine’s “100 People You Should Know” issue.

Canopy is a mentorship-driven early-stage investment program for startups in the cannabis industry, with a focus on ancillary products and services. With offices in Boulder, Colorado, and San Diego, California, their approach provides capital, mentorship, and guidance for companies looking to break into the cannabis industry.

As a partner at CanopyBoulder, Micah splits his time between the big picture and the day-to-day details. His focus is on building a robust business model and supporting infrastructure to support our companies and build the Canopy brand for the future. Fundraising is also key and requires constant attention. Their outstanding group of investors needs to be briefed regularly, provided with updates on financials and performance, etc. Micah spend lots of time working with entrepreneurs to solve problems, big and little, and helping them move from ideas to marketable solutions.

Through Vista Advisors, Dan provides management and board consulting services to early and growth stage companies in cannabis, food and beverage.  In addition to managing day-to-day operations and alternative asset investing for a Sonoma based family office, his current engagements include serving as the Executive Board member for a vertically integrated cannabis company in Nevada, a Board advisor to a Colorado based infused products company and co-founding a cannabis genetics company focused on seed propagation and production.
