ACG Tampa Bay - Hot Industries: A Private Equity Panel

As Partner of HealthEdge, Matt is responsible for deal origination, managing transaction execution including structuring, due diligence, financing, and documentation, portfolio management and value creation, and fundraising and investor relations. In addition to serving as a Partner of the firm, Matt holds the roles of HealthEdge’s Director of Portfolio Management, where he works closely with the management and finance teams at the portfolio companies to execute on value creation initiatives, and the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer, overseeing regulatory reporting. Matt’s prior finance and operational experience in multiple executive roles allows him to add unique insights within the portfolio to help build more effective finance and operations teams, develop and oversee the implementation of financial, lender, and investor reporting, and drive synergies/growth through strategic initiatives. Before joining the firm, Matt served in CFO and COO roles for a variety of companies across healthcare, technology, business services, and private capital. Matt began his career with Kindred Healthcare, a Fortune 500 company in the long-term healthcare industry, which included a role as a hospital CFO in the Tampa Bay area. He currently serves on the board of directors for the ACG Tampa Bay chapter. Outside of work, Matt enjoys playing guitar and live music along with spending time with his wife Jamie and their children: Nate, Clara, Wesley, and Jeremy.

Emery Ellinger, IV serves as Vice President at Clearwell Group. Emery started his career at VRA Partners as an Investment Banking Analyst. He then served as Associate Director on the Corporate Development Team at Evolent Health where he was responsible for sourcing, analyzing and conducting due diligence on strategic acquisition opportunities in the healthcare industry. Prior to joining Clearwell Group, Emery worked with Aberdeen Advisors on sell-side and buy-side advisory assignments across multiple industries.

Emery earned his B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration from Washington & Lee University. He is a proud alum who stays involved as the Florida West Coast Chapter President. He enjoys spending his free time boating and playing golf. When not outside, he is rooting for Georgia football and the Tampa Bay Lightning.

David spent over twenty years in the U.S. Army as a Special Forces Officer (commonly known as the “Green Berets”).  He has led and managed special operations missions in hazardous and complicated environments across the globe. Dave earned numerous awards and decorations throughout his career, a few include three Bronze Stars, one with a “V” device for valor in combat.

David holds a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Oswego and received his Masters in Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

After leaving the service, Dave spent a year at the biotech firm Amgen, then JP Morgan, and Mangrove Equity Partners. Dave joined the Riverside team in 2022 and leads origination efforts in the Southeast.

David currently lives in Tampa, Florida with his wife and three children.

Mr. Clark leads LCG’s Investment Banking efforts in its Tampa, Florida office, which focuses on assisting privately held middle market companies to meet their strategic goals of completing a sale, acquisition or raising capital.  Mr. Clark has over 38 years of experience in the financial services industry and has completed over $3.8 billion of transactions in his career which include mergers & acquisitions, capital formation and transaction advisory assignments.
