Wendy transitioned into the M & A industry after Aberdeen Advisors successfully sold the $ 20M business services firm where she served as Executive Vice President. Having played an integral role from the decision to go to market, through to the closing of the transaction to a billion-dollar family office out of California, Wendy gained firsthand experience navigating the complexities of the entire sales process.

As a senior member of the Aberdeen team, Wendy is intricately involved with the Firm’s clients from the onset of engagement through to the closing and oftentimes, she remains involved through the initial integration, post-transaction. Committed to delivering a high-performance experience to each client, Wendy’s ability to connect ideal buyers with Aberdeen’s sell-side clients and expertly trudge through the extensive discovery and due diligence phases adds great value to our client’s journey.

Having successfully driven a multitude of transactions to completion over the past decade, Wendy leverages her 20+ years of professional marketing and business management experience to effectively guide Aberdeen’s clients through the many phases of the sales process while they are simultaneously running their businesses.  Wendy’s proven M & A track record spans multiple industries and multiple geographies.

Wendy holds a B.S. degree from Georgia Southern and a Master’s degree from the University of South Florida. She is also a member of the Association of Corporate Growth, Key Women’s Leadership Forum, Working Women of Tampa Bay, and Berkeley Preparatory Trailblazers. She is a member of the Girls Empowered Mentally for Success advisory committee, an organization committed to the growth and development of girls in the Tampa Bay community. She attends Hyde Park United Methodist Church and enjoys running, watching baseball, boating, and fishing.

Nicholas Kodati is a Vice President at Star Mountain Capital, focused primarily on enterprise infrastructure, business operations and technology initiatives.

Mr. Kodati has served at the firm for 11 years in both New York and Tampa across underwriting, portfolio management and product development roles. 

He is a graduate of the NYU Stern School of Business.

Principal

Brendan Sullivan is a Principal in the CliftonLarsonAllen LLP Transaction Tax Group. He has more than 20 years in public accounting experience, including significant experience serving multinational corporations, private equity firms, and closely held businesses with transaction tax planning, domestic and cross-border transaction structuring and planning, compliance, and consulting.

Technical experience

  • Assists clients with solving complex tax and business issues, including tax structuring of mergers and acquisitions, tax planning for financially distressed companies, and identifying state and local tax efficiencies
  • Extensive technical knowledge and capabilities in assisting companies with pre and post close advice, specific examples include: assistance with LOIs, net cash proceeds, comparative transaction analysis’ including gross ups,  transaction costs analysis and Section 382 limitation calculations
  • Experience includes involvement in a variety of transactions, ranging from less than $1 million acquisitions to multi billion dollar transactions
  • Experience in working with other tax and non-tax professionals, including attorneys, investment bankers, and financial advisors, to provide integrated practical transaction strategies

Jeff Mitchell (Moderator)

Chief Executive Officer

As CEO at Aegis, Mr. Mitchell plays a hands-on role in overseeing the firm’s investment funds, including Aegis Business Credit, Aegis Real Estate Capital, and Aegis Venture Fund. He’s a key voice on the Investment and Credit Committees and helps guide everything from deal sourcing and underwriting to credit policy and portfolio strategy.

With more than 35 years of experience in banking and financial services, Mr. Mitchell brings deep expertise in asset-based, structured, and cash flow lending. He’s worked directly with CEOs and CFOs of companies generating up to $100 million in revenue and has held senior leadership positions at institutions such as Woodforest National Bank, Crestmark Bank (now Pathward Financial), Action Capital, Dominion Business Finance, and First Union (now Wells Fargo).

He’s also an active contributor to the industry, serving on the board of the Association for Corporate Growth and participating in organizations like the Secured Finance Network and Turnaround Management Association. Mr. Mitchell holds a degree in Economics and International Affairs from Florida State University.
