  • Assists clients with solving complex tax and business issues, including tax structuring of mergers and acquisitions, tax planning for financially distressed companies, and identifying state and local tax efficiencies
  • Extensive technical knowledge and capabilities in assisting companies with pre and post close advice, specific examples include: assistance with LOIs, net cash proceeds, comparative transaction analysis’ including gross ups, transaction costs analysis and Section 382 limitation calculations
  • Experience includes involvement in a variety of transactions, ranging from less than $1 million acquisitions to multi billion dollar transactions
  • Experience in working with other tax and non-tax professionals, including attorneys, investment bankers, and financial advisors, to provide integrated practical transaction strategies

His combined experience in direct investing and manager selection provides a differentiated perspective on portfolio construction, risk pricing, and resilient credit exposure.

Mr. Ugale is a Managing Director at Star Mountain Capital and a senior leader within the firm’s credit secondaries strategy. He is responsible for originating, underwriting and managing investments, with a focus on complex, off-market opportunities and structuring transactions that emphasize downside protection and attractive risk-adjusted returns. He works closely with individual and institutional investors on capital formation and portfolio construction within private credit secondaries and plays an active role in mentoring and developing investment talent across the firm.
