2022 is off and running and there is no shortage on disruption in the market.  Supply side and labor market issues from 2021 are continuing,  the Federal Reserve is just beginning its battle against inflation with rate increases, and the pressure to deploy record liquidity and investable dollars remains.  But amongst all this disruption could there be opportunity? John Caldwell is an Investment Specialist and Executive Director at J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Birmingham, Michigan. John comes to J.P. Morgan with nearly 30 years of investing experience. His career has spanned diverse responsibilities such as equity selection, portfolio construction, investment strategy and manager due diligence/selection.

Previously, John was the Chief Investment Officer at Freedom One Financial, a Registered Investment Advisor located in Clarkston, Michigan. With Freedom One, John was responsible for the investment of nearly $1 billion in retirement assets. He managed a team of three analysts and controlled five, risk-based portfolios for 401(k) participants. Prior to Freedom One, John was the Director of Portfolio Management with UBS Wealth Management. In this role, he and his team of seven portfolio managers ran a large cap core equity portfolio and fully allocated portfolios for high-net-worth and small institutional clients. John’s teams built one strategy and inherited another, eventually managing more than $2 billion. John was also the Chief Investment Strategist for McDonald Financial Group in Cleveland. He was responsible for the investment strategies (asset allocation, sector weightings and capital market forecasts) at the $30 billion regional investment company. John was also the chief spokesperson for the organization, appearing on CNBC and Bloomberg TV, as well as in major print outlets.

John studied Materials Science Engineering at Cornell University and holds a business degree from Cleveland State University.
