Local educator and author, Molly Beauregard, returns for a reprise appearance!  Molly was the keynote speaker at our inaugural Annual ACG Women’s Forum Luncheon and we are welcoming her back to give us an update on her last five years.  Needless to say, she’s been busy!  Since speaking to our group in 2015, Molly has produced a documentary and written a book both entitled Tuning the Student Mind illustrating her journey to develop an innovative college course called “Consciousness, Creativity, and Identity”.  Her semester long course at the College for Creative Studies marries the spiritual and the theoretical, integrating meditation and self-reflection with more conventional academic curriculum.  Amidst these unprecedented and trying times, her principles and teaching practices are particularly relevant for students and professionals alike.  Join us to hear her story and participate in an engaging discussion on the benefits of mindfulness and a consciousness-centered approach in our daily lives.

Molly Beauregard is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Loyola University Chicago and the University of Pittsburgh, holding master’s degrees in both public administration and sociology. She has been a professor of sociology for nineteen years at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan. Molly’s innovative course, ‘Consciousness, Creativity and Identity’, integrates meditation training into the core curriculum of an academic course.  As she reports, “In my classroom incubator, I have found that teaching young people to access their internal sense of being via meditation transforms their sense of self as well as their aptitude for learning.” Molly is also the Executive Director of the Tuning the Student Mind Foundation.  Initially developed at CCS, the TTSM Foundation supports consciousness-centered education program initiatives at colleges and universities across the country.
