In honor of the meaningful impact that Sharon Kimble had on the ACG Detroit community for over 20 years, our annual holiday charity event that meant so much to her, will now be known as "Kimble Bells."

ACG Detroit invites you to join us for our annual Networking & Charity Event benefiting Elizabeth's Courage Fund. Come enjoy an evening of great food, cocktails and networking while raising money to support the services that Elizabeth's Courage Fund provides.

About Elizabeth’s Courage Fund

Elizabeth’s Courage Fund supports Palliative Care to improve the quality of life for seriously ill kids and families at C.S. Mott Childrens Hospital. The fund honors Elizabeth Sheeren, a longtime Mott patient who has battled chronic medical challenges with courage, hope and faith.

Started by Claire Sheeren, daughter of ACG Detroit member Chris Sheeren (Longhouse Partners), to help raise money for Mott’s Palliative Care group.  Palliative Care, alongside other medical teams in the hospital system, focuses on improving the quality of life of patients with chronic and/or terminal diseases, including reducing pain and nausea, minimizing hospital stays, and supporting the emotional needs of the child and family.  Chris’ older daughter Elizabeth suffers from multiple auto-immune diseases and often has long stays in the hospital, and the Palliative Care team has been a huge difference-maker for her.  This experience inspired Claire to start a fund to help improve the lives of kids at Mott.

The charity raises money to provide children with services they normally would not receive such as Music Therapy, Mood Lifters (family emotional support group) & Medical Massage Therapy.  These services provide lifechanging comfort and care to children facing serious medical challenges, and to their families as well.

Therapies provided by the fund can help patients and families:

  • Cope with hospitalization
  • Relax and refocus from pain
  • Decrease anxiety and stress
  • Express feelings
  • Be creative
  • Cope with tests and procedures
  • Bond with family and caregivers
  • Be active
  • Experience positive interactions through music
