Randi Berris is a manager in Corporate Communications at DTE Energy in Detroit, Michigan. She oversees the strategic planning and implementation of communications for electric operations and serves as the crisis communications lead for the enterprise. Berris joined DTE in 2013. Previously, she was the editorial director at a PR agency in Southeast Michigan. She is a former journalist with nearly 20 years’ experience in radio, TV and at the Associated Press, where she was the Michigan news editor for a decade. Berris is a proud graduate of Syracuse University with a degree in broadcast journalism. She has been honored with a Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Silver Anvil National Award of Excellence in crisis communications for managing DTE’s communications in the “storm of the century” in 2017, and has won five Silver Quill Awards-Heritage Region from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) for her communications strategy and social media highlighting DTE’s restoration efforts in Puerto Rico as well as the company’s clean energy goals.
