Join us for Wine Down Wednesday, November 1st from 5:30-7:30pm. The event will be held at the House of Pur Vin in downtown Detroit and will feature House of Pur Vin owner, Regina Gaines, and Phelps Creek winemaker, Ira Kreft, who will guide us through the tasting of 4 wines as they also share their stories of the paths, both professional and personal, which led them into the world of wine.

Regina Gaines opened House of Pur Vin in 2015 after she and her two partners pitched the idea while attending TechTown’s Retail Boot Camp. Regina’s focus on wine follows a successful career in marketing which spanned two decades, during which Regina co-founded her own advertising and marketing agency and co-founded a tequila distributor. Regina holds a Master in Jurisprudence from Michigan State University and a Marketing degree from Clark Atlanta University.

Ira Kreft

Phelps Creek Vineyards

Assistant Winemaker

Ira Kreft has been on staff with Phelps Creek Vineyards since 2010, currently serving as an Assistant Winemaker, while simultaneously running business development for Bank of America Business Capital’s Central Region. Ira’s path to wine includes internships at wineries in Michigan and Oregon. While balancing a successful career in finance, Ira received his winemaking certificate from University of California-Davis. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Michigan University and an MBA from Michigan State University.
