ACG DETROIT ELECTS ANDREW W. MACLEOD PRESIDENT OF ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

MacLeod brings legal expertise to fast-growing, 440-plus member middle-market organization

DETROIT, Oct. 17, 2019—ACG Detroit, a nonprofit business organization of private equity firms, corporations and lenders that invest in middle-market companies, as well as legal professionals, accountants and consultants who provide advisory services, has elected Andrew W. MacLeod of Grosse Pointe Park, Mich. as president of the award-winning Detroit chapter. MacLeod will serve a two-year term on the ACG Detroit board of directors.

As a member of Detroit law firm Dickinson Wright, MacLeod is well versed in the practice of corporate business and tax law including the facilitation of mergers and acquisitions, financings, organization of business entities and private equity funds; and principally acts as counsel to private equity funds and as outside general counsel to numerous companies. MacLeod has received numerous recognitions for his work with Dickinson Wright, including a Best Lawyers in America designation, a Chambers USA “Recognized Practitioner,” and a Recommended Lawyer by The Legal 500.

MacLeod has been a member of ACG’s Detroit chapter since 2008. In 2014, he became involved in the program committee, assisting with the planning of member events throughout the year. MacLeod was named to the organization’s board of directors in 2015 and most recently as co-chair of programs in 2017.

In addition to his involvement in ACG Detroit, MacLeod is the treasurer and serves on the council of the Tax Section of the Michigan Bar. He has also served as treasurer and a member of the board of directors for the Grosse Pointe Hockey Association. 

MacLeod is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Metropolitan Detroit Bar Association. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, and a Juris Doctor degree, as well as a Master of Laws in Taxation degree from Wayne State University.
