Lloyd Greif, President & CEO -  Greif & Co.

     Lloyd is a widely respected investment banker and civic leader.  He has completed a broad spectrum of transactions, from cross-border mergers & acquisitions and leveraged recapitalizations to initial public offerings and private placement financings of equity and debt securities, engineering transactions ranging in size from $25 million to $2 billion.  Lloyd founded Greif & Co. in 1992 during the heart of a recession and built the firm into one of the leading purveyors of merger & acquisition, corporate finance and strategic advisory services to middle-market growth companies nationwide.  Previously, he was Vice Chairman and head of investment banking for Sutro & Co., the oldest investment banking firm in the West, where, at age 34, he was the youngest person to hold the post in Sutro's storied 140-year history. Lloyd was formerly a management consultant with Touche Ross & Co. (Deloitte Consulting, LLP).  He also serves as Chairman of the Advisory Council of USC’s world-renowned Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies, which he endowed in 1997.  He holds degrees from Loyola Law School (JD), USC (MBA) and UCLA (BA-Economics).

 

 Ken Firtel, Founder and Managing Partner,  Transom Capital Group

     Ken is a Founder and Managing Partner of Transom Capital Group. Prior to Transom, he was an investment professional at Platinum Equity and was responsible for evaluating, structuring, and negotiating transactions and transitioning and overseeing operations of portfolio companies.  Before joining Platinum, Ken was an associate in the Transactions Department of O’Melveny & Myers, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, investor and company-side private equity, venture capital and debt financing, joint ventures, and general representation of middle-market companies.

     Ken holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Yale University, a Master of Science, Industrial Relations-Diploma in Business Studies from the London School of Economics, and a Juris Doctor from the USC Gould School of Law. He played Varsity soccer at Yale and published an article in the Southern California Law Review. He serves on the board of Angel City Sports, an organization focused on providing athletic and other opportunities for children and adults with physical disabilities, and on the board of LA Breakers FC, a youth soccer club located in West Los Angeles.

 

Nick Fries, Senior Vice President - Platinum Equity

     Nick is responsible for negotiating and structuring new acquisition opportunities in North America for the Platinum Equity Small Cap team. While at Platinum, he has executed transactions in building products, metals and mining, transportation and logistics, equipment rental and other industrial end markets representing a range of different deal structures. Prior to joining Platinum in 2007, Nick worked at Credit Suisse First Boston where he focused largely on financial sponsor leveraged finance. He earned his BA in Economics from Occidental College.

 

 

Jeremy Holland, Managing Partner - The Riverside Company 

     Jeremy leads Riverside's Origination team across the various funds/strategies in North America. He joined the Riverside in 2010, when they recruited him to switch from executing deals to focusing on originating new investment opportunities in the Western US & Canada.  In total, Jeremy has 20 years of private equity experience, closing deals across a range of industries and up and down the capital structure.  He began his private equity career with Buttonwood Capital Group immediately after completing his undergraduate studies.  Jeremy earned a B.S. degree in Finance from California State University Northridge.

Tim Meyer, Founder & Managing Partner - Angeles Equity 

     Tim is a co-founder and Managing Partner at Angeles Equity Partners, a LA based Private Equity firm focused on the Industrial sector.  The firm closed on a $360 million debut fund in early 2017.  He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the firm's investment activities.  Prior to co-founding Angeles Equity Partners in 2014, Tim co-led the Industrials vertical at The Gores Group. He was responsible for leading due diligence efforts, driving operational transformation and providing portfolio company oversight.  During his tenure at Gores, he served as the Chairman and/or CEO of numerous portfolio companies, and was a member of both the Management and Investment Committees. 

     Tim has been recognized by M&A Advisor for the Deal of the Year and Middle Market Deal of the Year, and Private Equity International Operational Excellence Award.  He received a B.A. in Finance from Texas A&M University and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania
