Overview
ACG Detroit is taking a small group of members somewhere most people will never go! Join us for a real look at how Detroit was built, managed, and rebuilt. Our Behind the City private walking tour is an intimate, behind-the-scenes experience for up to 15 ACG Detroit members — designed to deepen member relationships, generate conversation, and showcase Detroit through the lens of the people who know it best.
We're going behind the walls of some of downtown Detroit's most iconic buildings for a private tour, with access typically reserved for owners, operators, and select insiders. This is more than a walk-through of the buildings. It is a look at how Detroit’s historic architecture, modern technology, and continued investment are working together to shape the next chapter of the city. We'll visit:
The Guardian Building
Detroit's art deco cathedral — one of the finest examples of Art Deco architecture in America. Built in 1929, its Pewabic tile mosaics, vaulted lobby, and Tiffany-style ceiling are jaw-dropping at street level. What most people never see is what's above it.
Bedrock Command Center
The nerve center behind Bedrock's downtown Detroit portfolio — one of the most ambitious urban real estate revitalization efforts in American history. This is where the operators manage millions of square feet in real time.
Book Cadillac & Book Tower
Two buildings that tell the full arc of Detroit — from gilded-age grandeur to decades of vacancy to one of the most celebrated adaptive reuse stories in the country. The Book Cadillac reopened as a luxury hotel in 2008. Book Tower's restoration is a story still being written.
We hope you can join us!
