Dean Emeritus, Professor of Law, and Director of Center for Governmental Responsibility

Jon is usually introduced as a former Speaker of the Florida House and former Dean of the UF College of Law and as a Law Professor and Counsel to the national law firm Boies Schiller and Flexner.

But there are other interesting less known details:

  • He’s a two-time cancer survivor.
  • He’s published a book with Oxford University Press entitled “Privacy the Lost Right”.
  • He’s litigated and won high profile privacy cases for the Earnhardt Family, Versace Family and for the family of deceased Seaworld trainer Dawn Brancheau.
  • He’s won an Emmy
  • He’s served as national co chairman of a Presidential campaign
  • He’s Driven tanks and flown airplanes.
  • He’s been one of the developers of two hotels.
  • He’s appeared on or been quoted in media including CBS, CNN, Fox, BBC, PBS and the New York Times, Washington Post and LA Times.
  • He’s been the author or co-author of more than five amendments to the Florida Constitution.
  • Importantly, he co authored the constitutional amendment authorizing medical marijuana in Florida.
  • He’s a co-founder of River Florida- a medical marijuana security and transportation company.
  • He’ s celebrating 28 years of marriage and has two daughters in college

Bruce Knox is the founding partner of Knox Medical and the president of Knox Nursery, Inc. In 2015 Knox was awarded one of the first five Medical Cannabis licensees in the State of Florida. Bruce directed that process which resulted in Knox being the State’s highest scoring applicant. Bruce has strove to set the standard for medical cannabis industry in Florida and it is reflected in his winning formula for MMJ operations in this state. He also brings a unique perspective to the Florida Cannabis industry that includes successfully marrying his vast experience in Florida Horticulture with applied manufacturing concepts and processing efficiencies that have been tried and tested over time in his 600,000 square foot state of the art facility.

Brady Cobb is an attorney, registered lobbyist, and consultant based in South Florida. Brady has emerged as a leading voice in the budding medical cannabis industry in the United States and has been instrumental to the marketplaces transition from legal and regulatory uncertainty to sensible and long overdue federal legislative policy reforms that will provide stability and long overdue institutional growth opportunities to the medical cannabis space.  As an attorney, he focuses his practice on state and federal lobbying and policy making, the development of efficient and reasonable regulatory systems and related compliance, complex license transfer/change of ownership transactions, capital markets transactions and compliance/shareholder disclosure issues with the TSX, CSE and NASDAQ. Brady was instrumental in the legislative process to implement Florida’s medical marijuana regulatory system, and also represented Liberty Health Sciences in closing the first ever MMTC license transfer in Florida, and also served as the Liberty Health Sciences (LHS:CSE) Chief Legal Officer from inception through July of 2018 when he accepted a position on the board of directors of Scythian BioSciences Corp (SCYB:TSX). Prior to forming his own firm, Brady was a director at Tripp Scott, P.A. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida which is a nationally recognized law firm that specializes in governmental relations, business law, and complex business litigation. Cobb still actively participates in the political process and serves on the host committees for candidates running for federal, state or local elected office. A lifelong Floridian, Brady is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with his wife and two children.
