CDO Roundtable Events are invitation-only and FREE for active Bay Area corporate development officers (CDOs) or strategic buyers. This is a one-time CDO Roundtable event that is also open to ACG Members at a $35 cost to attend (refreshments provided).

Yan Zhang is a partner in the Corporate Practice in the Palo Alto office of Baker Botts. He represents public and private companies in corporate and securities matters in a variety of industries, and the financial institutions that invest in or provide services to them. His practice has a particular emphasis on Greater China-focused cross-border transactions. Yan's experience includes public offering and private placement of securities, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and foreign direct investment, general corporate governance and compliance matters. Yan also works with private equity and venture capital funds in their investment activities and their portfolio company matters. In addition, Yan regularly advises foreign companies on doing business in China and Chinese companies on investing in the United States.

Kai is the Founder & Managing Director of OceanIQ Capital. As the company head, his primary role is to provide strategic vision, investment advisory, and relationship management. He started his investment management career at Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management, specializing in asset allocation and investment strategies. He later spent 12 years at Credit Suisse and was most recently a Director and Relationship Manager. He has worked extensively with prominent families on investment management, trust & estate planning; with corporate founders on selling strategies such as 10b5-1 plans; and with private equity fund managers on block trading and diversification strategies. Kai graduated from UCLA with a BA in Business Economics and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He currently sits on the board of FLY (Fresh Lifelines for Youth), a non-profit dedicated to serving at-risk youth. An avid golfer and runner, he currently resides with his wife and two children in San Francisco.

Michael is the SVP, Corporate Development and Venture Partner for Green Prosperity Group. GP is a Chinese holding company that is focused on investing and commercializing the Chinese market and monetizing "rest of world" disruption and opportunity in China. The model is built around risk mitigation, venture investment, operational value add, domain knowledge, partnerships and effectible localization. The holding company has an operational group focused on building sustainable value for each portfolio company and an investment team with three venture funds to help the portfolio with strategic capital. As the co-architect of the model, Michael helps to:

Yuji Sun

Yuji Sun specializes in general corporate and commercial matters, venture capital financing, mergers and acquisitions and technology transactions.

Yuji has more than 15 years of experience advising clients in the US and China. He has extensive experience in corporate and commercial laws in the US, including the formation and financing of startup and merging companies, complex commercial transactions such as strategic alliance and technology licensing, and mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.  Yuji focuses his work in the technology sector, providing counseling to senior executives on a variety of strategic decisions and transactions, including manufacture, outsourcing, procurement, sales, acquisitions/integrations and regulatory inquiries. He has also participated in numerous venture capital financing transactions, representing both companies and investors in all stages.  Yuji regularly advises Chinese companies on doing business in the US. Earlier in his career, Yuji represented multinationals in direct investment transactions and generally in doing business in China.
