Diverse DealMakers' Allyship

Since launching our DEI Initiative in 2020, ACG Philadelphia members have established a Diverse DealMaker’s Network and programming to advance our mission:

ACG will be a community where racially and ethnically diverse dealmakers and M&A professionals have equitable access to grow their networks, source deals and build successful careers.

We now invite ACG Philadelphia member organizations to participate in an empowering new opportunity to support this mission:

The Diverse DealMakers’ Allyship is a newly established capital fund that advances our mission by ensuring diverse dealmakers have equitable access and support to grow their networks, source deals and build successful careers.

How do firms participate?

  • Founding Allies ($2,500) will contribute to the Diverse DealMakers’ Allyship by close of business, 2022
  • Allies ($1,000) will contribute by close of business, 2022

*Participation is at a company, not individual, level. Companies must have at least 1 employee who is a current member of ACG Philadelphia.

As this is a new initiative, the ACG DEI Steering Committee will review funds used in 2021-2022 and then determine the future need for 2023.

What does the funding support? Capital raised for the Diverse DealMakers’ Allyship will be overseen by the DEI Steering Committee and ACG Philadelphia Board and committed to opportunities such as:

  • Development and support of programs, networking and content for the Diverse Dealmaker’s Network and broader ACG Philadelphia community (x4-5/year)
  • Creation of curated events for small groups of members on diversity-related interests
  • Support for membership and/or program fees for a new or prospective diverse member
  • Support for Monthly Member Spotlights, during which a diverse member of the dealmaking community is given the opportunity to share a few minutes about his or her business
  • Enhanced engagement opportunities at M&A East and InterGrowth for diverse dealmakers
  • Tuition for ACG University for a young diverse dealmaker
  • Research on diverse dealmaking in the region to help inform where ACG can help drive change

The ACG Philadelphia DEI Steering Committee will report annually to Allyship participants on where funding has been applied and relevant outcomes.

What will participating organizations gain in return?

All participating organizations will be named on the ACG Philadelphia website and recognized in relevant communications. Founding Allies will also receive special recognition at ACG Philadelphia events, including M&A East 2021. We will also invite a representative from each Ally organization to a review meeting 1-2x per year to offer their input on our progress, share ideas for furthering our mission, and identify new opportunities for collaboration.
