ABOUT ACG
ACG Denver is the premier business association in the Rocky Mountain region that offers access to expert people and essential resources to help drive middle-market growth through mergers and acquisitions (M&A), as well as organic growth strategies. ACG Denver is committed to helping
develop future leaders through a strong alliance with regional business schools and programs like the ACG Cup®.

ABOUT THE COMPETITION
The ACG Cup® is an inter-collegiate competition among students from regional business schools to demonstrate their abilities and insights into Mergers and Acquisition. Using a realworld case study, student teams compete by presenting valuation, capital markets and M&A strategic advice to a panel of experienced professionals from within the ACG Denver community.

Eligibility: The competition is open to individual teams of 2-5 graduate students who are officially registered at the participating schools during the 2018/2019 academic calendar year. Participating schools have agreed on a selected date of April 27. Each school will select 2 – 5 teams to compete. Teams must submit their member roster with email addresses two weeks prior to their competition date to jputka@p2bi.com.

SCHEDULE AND FORMAT

  • Competition: There will be a single round of competition hosted at the Grant Thronton offices downtown at 18th and California. Each team will receive the case study from ACG Global one week in advance of the competition. Teams will present their analysis and recommendations to a panel of judges (playing the role of a company’s Board of Directors) for 20 minutes, inclusive of a recommended 5-8 minute allotment for Q&A. Teams will be evaluated on both technical analysis of the case along with sales and presentation skills. (Hint: the best technical analyst isn’t always the team that wins the job).

  • Networking Night: Following the competition ACG Denver will host a Networking Night for all competitors and university representatives. The Networking Night will take place on a weeknight following the competition where the winner of the ACG Cup will be announced and the presentation of the cash prizes and ACG Cup Trophy will take place. With ACG members also in attendance participants will have the opportunity to connect with seasoned executives in the Colorado finance community. Light appetizers and drinks will be provided.
