The Rising Importance of Cybersecurity in M&A Deals

Cybercrime has increasingly been grabbing more headlines in recent years and for good reason: research has shown the incidence of cyberattacks is dramatically rising with 53% of U.S. businesses reporting a cyberattack in 2018, up from 38% in 2017. The cost of an attack is high and what’s worse, more than 77% of organizations do not have a Cyber Security Incident Response Plan.

In order to avoid costly surprises, it’s no wonder that investors are intensifying cybersecurity due diligence of acquisition targets. Join us as our panelists discuss the increasing importance of cybersecurity due diligence and its impact on multiple aspects of the deal. The discussion will touch on how private equity investors can take a proactive approach to protecting their digital assets, increasing investor confidence, and establishing a competitive advantage.
