Sam Berry is a third-generation independent oil man from Mississippi serving as Chief Engineer and Treasurer of Laurel Fuel Company. He leads the family's energy operations alongside his father, L. Forrest Berry. Originally founded as a pipeline construction company, Laurel Fuel Company has evolved into a leading owner and operator of natural gas pipelines, supplying power plants, factories and data centers across southern Mississippi.
In addition to his role at Laurel Fuel Company, Sam is Vice President of BitMis, a subsidiary that leverages the pipeline infrastructure and access to natural gas to power large scale bitcoin mining and data center operations. By integrating energy production with digital infrastructure, BitMis exemplifies the family's forward-thinking approach to sustainable and efficient energy.
The Berry Family also actively invests in ventures spanning from cattle, timber, and real estate to wireless spectrum, cryptocurrency and nuclear reactors. These diverse holdings reflect a strategic commitment to industries that combine tangible assets with long term innovation and stability.
Sam earned his Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Mississippi with an emphasis in Business Administration. As a proud alumnus, he regularly returns to Oxford to support the Ole Miss Rebels at football, baseball, and basketball games.
