Peak Athletics
CEO

As the founder and one of the current owners of Peak Athletics in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Julie Zecchino takes great pride in Peak’s strong tradition of excellence both locally and nationally. Peak Athletics has been a staple in Colorado for cheerleading, gymnastics and dance instruction for over 20 years.  Many thousands of children have been a part of the Peak family over the years and its presence in the community is unparalleled. Julie began her teaching career in the late 1980s as a high school American History teacher. She taught, counseled, and coached at two different local high schools before discovering the need for additional youth sports programs for female athletes in the community and founded Peak Athletics in 1999.

Growing up locally, Julie had the opportunity to watch her community grow and change, and feels blessed to know that Peak has touched so many young lives. With a tremendous sense of satisfaction, she has watched generations of her students grow and succeed; many of which have returned with their own children.

As the industry has grown dramatically and traveling tournaments has become a reality of competitive youth sports, Julie started a travel agency for tournament housing in the youth sports market.  The company was started originally to support her own athletes and then grew to one of the leaders in the industry within a few years, supporting hundreds of programs throughout the nation.

Her most recent endeavor is the Colorado partnership with the world-renowned Cheer Athletics brand, widely known as the leader in competitive cheerleading world wide.  They were most recently featured in the Netflix documentary, "Cheer" and as a finalist on NBC's America's Got Talent.

Julie holds a Master’s Degree in Education and Counseling. She has a passion for working with and developing special needs athletes and has served on the USASF Committee for Athletes with Special Needs. She was also one of the original members of the State Board for the Colorado Spirit Coaches Association. She currently resides with her family in Castle Pines, Colorado.
