The Women in Transactions Volunteering Event at the Kids Book Bank

Help the Women in Transactions support the Cleveland Kid’s Book Bank, as we sort and box books for children in low-income households (two-thirds of which don’t own a single children’s book). Browse, batch, and box books for distribution to organizations serving children and families in need. You’ll enjoy reminiscing with other volunteers about your favorite childhood books as you dig through hundreds of books and prepare them for young readers to discover. 

A brief training is provided at the start of every shift.

Sorting and packing books requires standing for extended periods of time. Some tasks may be completed while seated. Please wear comfy clothes that you don't mind getting dusty and closed toe shoes.

We also encourage you to bring books for donation. The critical need is for new and gently used books for babies through early readers. Ask your friends/coworkers/neighbors if they have any gently-used children’s books they’d like to donate, and bring them with you when you come.
