What behavior or personality trait do you most attribute your success to, and why?

Commercial finance transactions at their core are the start or renewal of a relationship between a lender and a borrower. In the midst of a transaction, it’s easy to get caught in the weeds and sometimes miss the bigger picture. I think recognizing that the transaction is so relationship-driven and being able to approach it from that business perspective has allowed me to act as that trusted advisor. Also, I’ve always been able to operate well on high caffeine and low sleep!

What do you do to turn things around when you're having a bad day?

Being outside and near the water always turns my day around, whether that’s a lakeside run or walking on the beach with our two kids. We are lucky to live close to the lake and have been fully taking advantage this year.

What's a trip that changed you, and why?

Somewhat cheating with this answer as it was many trips within a trip, but I’d say my summer studying abroad in Dijon, France during my junior year at Ohio State. Living in a foreign country, being immersed in another culture, combined with traveling to a new city and/or country every weekend, pushed me out of my known bubble and provided me with new independence and perspective I had not experienced from prior travels. It remains my favorite part of my college experience.

If you had a yacht, what would you name it?

As a finance lawyer, I feel like my response needs to be "Lever Up"!

What's your favorite sport to watch and which team do you root for?

College football 100% and Ohio State. For me, the return of college football is the silver lining of summer’s end, while a bit delayed this year, I’m looking forward to cheering on the Buckeyes and hoping for a safe season for all.
